August 2004. Ten Years Old.
I love Arabian horses because some of them are just like me. There is really almost no reason why I like horses, I just do. Without horses in my life, it would be like having only one arm. My family owns a farm called Midwest. Other people and our friends and kids board their horses at Midwest, It is kind of like babysitting horses. There is a friendly cat at the farm named Nana and she has a litter of kittens every year. Some people take them home and the kittens love their new owners! In early spring there are baby horses born called foals. We have a lot of them at Midwest. My mom and sisters and I sleep at the farm sometimes to watch them be born and sometimes help them foal out. I have a friend named Nelson Valdez who is the son of Gil Valdez who trains horses at Midwest. Both of us work at the farm and we pull weeds and help with the horses. It's really fun! When I grow up , I want to be a veterinarian to help the sick horses get well again. This spring a baby calf was born at our farm. His name is Harry Potter and he's very nice. He follows our friend Linda Lane around.
Please come to visit us at our farm,
Sincerely,
Courtney Lynn Boggs
Dear Friends,
Our good friend from Minnesota Walter Mishek found this wonderful gelding for me and my sisters named Roffus. He is now a member of our family and he gives happy rides to all the kids that visit Midwest. We are going to have a birthday party for him soon because he is going to turn 18. Here is my drawing of me riding on him.
